Members, Friends and Family

Here you will find brief updates and links to friends of Blue Heron Farm Community currently residing on the farm as renters and links/updates of Blue Heron members and some members’ family information.

As privacy is respected, not all members and friends of Blue Heron will be featured on-line at this website.

Annie B. - currently residing in Mexico and is the owner of the restored farmhouse at Blue Heron.

Barbara L. - political activist and first resident on the farm. Her son Tony resides in NY and Doug in Chatham County.

Bruce P. - arborist, former resident of the farm a few years ago - now with his partner Judy and new baby boy living in Chapel Hill.

Bruce S. - web creator of this site, plays guitar and other instruments. Also works with Autistic and Developmentally Disabled Adults in the Chapel Hill area. Currently addicted to composing music on his computers.

Carmen S. - daughter of Sue and Bruce, nurse who has been living with her family on the farm but is now living in NYC work at St. Vincent’s Hospital.

Dave O. - interested in organic farming, also involved in drumming

David R. - Father of Soren. Currently residing in Chapel Hill with partner Kate. David is also the treasurer of Blue Heron.

Doug J. - organic farmer who also teaches sustainable agriculture at Central Carolina Community College in Pittsboro.

Echo - living in Steve E’s house.

Janine S. - daugher of Sue and Bruce, now living in Asheville, working as a DJ and graphics designer

Kate H. - former resident of the farm, social worker, now attending grad school at UNC-CH, living with partner David R.

Kathryn - new to farm in Jan. 2003 currently residing in the farmhouse which she plans to buy and continue to restore

Lib H. - has donated her energy over the years to our community and has bestowed her tractor and other farm equipment on us.

Murray P. - therapist, arborist - though not living on BHF he’s been working on his timberframe house for some time. Resides with his wife, Jean in Chapel Hill

Norma H. - University fundraiser, jeweler and fabric artist; married to member Stephen H. and lives on the farm in their new cottage.

Perrin - vetrinarian living in Stacye's cabin

Ray M. - hydrologist for the state, mechanic, beekeeper and much more. Shares his 3 daughters who reside on the farm part-time

Roy and Maria Stawsky: Court certified Spanish interpreters and translators currently completion the construction of their new house on the farm. Daughter: Mia (3 years old, as of 2004)

Sally E. - mosaic artist, therapist. Her daughter Sarah lives in a cabin next to Sally’s house.

Sarah E. -Local actress and stage manager and designer in ceramic tiles. Lives in a little cabin next to her mom’s house here on the farm.

Stacey E - currently living in Carrboro and is considering membership to our community.

Stacye L. - mural painter, artist. Her son, Soren, shares life on the farm and life in Chapel Hill with David and Kate.

Stephen H. - therapist, now lives full-time on the farm where he resides with his wife Norma. His son Nick is currently living in Durham. Stephen is also plays electric bass guitar.

Steve E. - currently living in both the NC mountains and Winston-Salem. His daugther Sarah lives on the farm, son Andy lives and works in Chapel Hill.

Susanne S. - social worker, massage therapist, and just finished attending grad school. She also sings and plays music and is married to Bruce, their two daughters, Janine and Carmen

Tim B. - Sally's partner, film producer, and ceramic tile artist living with Sally.

Tony and Hannah - newest members who are just starting construction of their new home on the farm.
